Leland Belew, who served as manager of the Skylab Program Office at Marshall in the early 1970s, died on Friday, June 6. Belew also was father-in-law to Mack Blackman, a human resources specialist in Marshall's Office of Human Capital. In addition to serving in management and engineering capacities at Marshall, Belew edited at least two books that the Marshall Center published regarding Skylab. Skylab is considered by many to be America’s first crewed space station. Copies of both books are available on the Marshall History Office [URL=http://history.msfc.nasa.gov/skylab/index.html]website[/URL]. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Avenue. Visitation also will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the First Christian Church, 3209 Whitesburg Drive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
